As the global business environment changes, we are taking the steps necessary to ensure that our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program remains an integral part of our operations and in line with the standards expected of a leading global corporation.
In August 2005, Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd. formed a CSR Committee to newly define our fundamental approach to CSR. This resulted in the announcement of our Basic CSR Policy, which is aimed at heightening awareness of CSR among each and every member of our organisation.
Externally our divisional focus is on government, corporate and public relations, representing Mitsui in various associations and forums.
Internally we act as a resource centre for Mitsui in an advisory role, providing research, analysis and dissemination of information on political, economic and social issues, with emphasis on the impact such factors may have on Mitsui's business today and in the future.
The I.T. area supports the local network and provides access to the worldwide network
of Mitsui offices. This enables efficient communications between staff in Australian offices, with Mitsui staff worldwide, and their external clients & suppliers.
